Enphase Upgrade Program for Early Adopters
As the owner of a legacy Enphase microinverter system(M175, M190, M210 and D380), you were one of the first adopters of a revolutionary approach to solar energy generation, and you helped establish Enphase as the worldwide leader in microinverter technology.
In the nearly ten years since we introduced our very first microinverters, we have made unprecedented advancements in microinverter design and manufacturing. Many millions of test-cycle hours, and analysis of thousands of terabytes of product data, have allowed us to massively improve product performance and reliability. As part of our commitment to quality and service, we want to make these product advancements available to you, our very first customers.
How It Works
To qualify for the upgrade program, you must be the owner of a legacy Enphase microinverter system. That’s it.
Below, you will find details about the three options Enphase is offering. Participation in this program is completely voluntary; should you choose not to participate, your legacy microinverters will be fully covered through the remainder of the 15-year product warranty. Please note that the Enphase product warranty does not cover any labor charges from installers for service calls and installation work.
Option 1: Microinverter Upgrade
Upgrade your second-generation microinverters to our latest seventh-generation microinverter, the Enphase IQ 7-PD. You get an extremely good deal (as in, nobody has ever gotten such a good deal) on brand new Enphase microinverters, which will replace your existing microinverters. We will modify the power output of the new Enphase microinverters to be compatible with your existing solar panels and system equipment.
With the Microinverter Upgrade option, you will have access to our latest and most reliable technology. In fact, our new IQ 7-PD Microinverter is an order of magnitude more reliable than our second-generation products. Higher reliability means fewer service calls and repairs. Plus, you'll enjoy the peace-of-mind of a 25-year product warranty and two-year service agreement while your legacy inverters are retired.
This new technology also allows you to view and track your household's energy usage, letting you see how much energy comes from your panels and how much comes from the utility. You can learn more about this feature here. Plus, your system will be storage-ready should you choose to add Enphase AC Batteries now or down the road. Please note that this feature requires installation of hardware near your home's main electrical service panel, and availability depends on the configuration of your service panel.

Cost: We're offering Enphase equipment to homeowners at a discounted price of $79/panel USD (that's almost 50% off of standard pricing). Labor costs are quoted separately by your installer. While system size and specifications vary, the average cost to upgrade a 20-panel system typically falls between $2,300-$3,100 for equipment and installation.
**The range provided does not account for any incidentals specific to your project. Incidentals might include swapping mounting equipment, additional cabling requirements, difficulty in accessing roofs etc. Consult your installer for more details.
Option 2: Full System Upgrade
The Full System Upgrade option is just that: upgrade your entire solar system with a brand new one. The new system will be built around the latest, higher energy producing Enphase Energized AC Modules, which have our seventh generation microinverters built right into the solar panel.
With the Full System Upgrade option, your installer will remove your existing system (including microinverters and panels) and replace it with the new Enphase powered AC Modules so that you have the highest performing and most reliable Enphase products on your roof. In fact, our seventh generation microinverters perform at 97% efficiency. Higher reliability means fewer service calls and repairs. Plus, if your new system meets the requirements, you may also qualify for the 30% Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC).
This new technology allows you to be Ensemble ready. Please work with your installer to determine which of the two Enphase AC Modules would best suit your needs.

We have compiled some frequently asked questions below:
What legacy microinverters qualify for the Enphase Upgrade Program?
The Enphase M190, M210, D380, and M175 microinverters are considered legacy microinverters that qualify for the Enphase Upgrade Program.
What are the terms of the warranty and service agreement?
New Enphase products are covered by our industry-leading 25-year warranty, as well as a two-year service agreement, which covers any installation costs incurred for replacement of warrantied microinverters, should any of your system's microinverters fail within the first two years from your purchase date.
Will Enphase stop servicing legacy microinverters in case of failure?
No, Enphase will continue to honor the 15-year product warranty on all of its legacy microinverters. For more information about the Enphase warranty, go here.
Do I need to upgrade my entire system at once or can I upgrade one microinverter at a time?
The Enphase Upgrade Program is being offered for a limited time for legacy system owners, and availability of the program and product is limited. In order to be eligible for the discounted cost, all of the system’s legacy microinverters must be upgraded at one time.
If I participate in the upgrade, what will happen to my old equipment?
Should you choose to upgrade your system, the solar installer will handle the removal of all old equipment, working with local facilities to ensure that components are recycled appropriately.
If I participate in the upgrade, will I need to get new permits?
For Option 1 - Microinverter Upgrade, the IQ 7 microinverter will be adjusted to meet original permit requirements so that new permits should not be required. For the other program options, new permits will need to be secured, as with any new solar system installation. Your installer will help manage the permitting process.
What if I don’t want to participate in the program?
Should you choose not to participate in the program, nothing about your system or its warranty changes. Everything will stay the same throughout the remainder of your products' original 15-year warranty.
